2021 UNO Alumni Association Scholarships
Vivian Kaldahl, Jozy Piper, Lilly Gierhan and Jiya Chaudhari
The 2021 UNO Alumni Association Scholarships have been awarded to three high school graduates. The three $2,500/year scholarships are awarded to those who have demonstrated leadership and involvement during high school. The scholarships are renewable for up to four years total.
Teja Farley
Teja is a graduate of Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca High School. She was very involved in her school’s FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) chapter, having served terms as president, treasurer and executive eirector of the Nebraska State Executive Committee. Through FBLA, Teja participated in several initiatives, including the Connect with Business Project, American Enterprise Project and Trick or Treat for the Food Pantry. Additionally, Teja was an active part of student council, National Honor Society, Students of Service, choir, volleyball and cheerleading. She plans to major in psychology.

Abby Heimann
Abby graduated from Wakefield High School. While there, she served as president and vice president of both her school’s student council and National Honor Society. Abby was also active in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), Family Career and Community Leaders of America and choir. Being a student aid at Wakefield Elementary school was important to Abby while she was in high school, and she also served as a volunteer in the Circle of Friends Mentor program. Abby is majoring in pre-secondary education with a math endorsement.

Hannah Serhan
Hannah graduated from Millard North High School. She was involved with dance, orchestra, student council, the IB Support Group and Mustang Mentoring. Hannah volunteered for Girls Inc., serving as a role model for the participants, and for the Phoenician Club of Omaha, helping to preserve the beauty of the Arab culture through music, food and textiles. She plans to major in architectural engineering.
