2019 UNO Alumni Scholars
The 2019 UNO Alumni Association Scholarships have been awarded to three high school graduates. The three $2,500/year scholarships are awarded to those who have demonstrated leadership and involvement during high school. The scholarships are renewable for up to four years total.
Madeline Boudreau
Boudreau is from Marrero, Louisiana, and graduated from Academy of Our Lady there. She was captain of her varsity golf team for three years, was a part of the billiards club and was an active member of the high school drama club. She also volunteered frequently in her community with organizations including the NOLA 99’s, First Tee of Greater New Orleans, St. Luke’s United Methodist Church Summer Drama Program, and many other organizations and programs. She will major in aviation.

Michael Monico
Monico graduated from Gross Catholic High School. During high school, he was involved in student council, National Honor Society, soccer and basketball. He was an active volunteer for Heartland Hope, Kids Against Hunger and with his church and surrounding community. He is a member of the UNO men's soccer team. Monico is majoring in business administration.

Joslynn Shanahan
Shanahan graduated from Millard South High School in Omaha. She was a member of Leo Club, Spanish Club, El Club de la Cultrura Espanol, the National Honor Society and Early College High School program. Her community volunteerism included Tri-M, an honors program for musicians who want to give back to their community. She is undecided on her major.
“Becoming an alumnus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha would give me the opportunity to help others who crave the validation of doing more for the world than just helping yourself through getting a higher education.”
