UNO Magazine Spring 2018
110 Years. 110 Facts & Figures
From its start, UNO began producing outstanding graduates. The university’s first graduating class, the Class of 1913, included Stanton Salisbury, later a rear admiral who oversaw all U.S. Navy chaplains during World War II. It also included Helen Hansen, who became one of the nation’s foremost nursing experts. Year after year, Maverick alumni continued to make their mark on the world. They’ve served our country with valor, taught our children, entertained us on stage and screen, safeguarded our beautiful planet and its creatures, dazzled us with their athletic prowess, fed the hungry, gave water to the thirsty and healed the sick. Mavericks and the university they call home are amazing. In honor of UNO’s 110th anniversary later this year, UNO Magazine presents 110 amazing facts and figures about the university and Maverick graduates.
