Royce
Engstrom, a 1975 UNO graduate and Nebraska native, has been named
University of Montana president and will assume that office Oct. 15. Engstrom has served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University since 2007. Born in Michigan and raised in Nebraska, he came to Montana from the University of South Dakota where he served as the Professor and Chair of Chemistry, Vice President for Research and Dean of the Graduate School, and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Engstrom and his wife Mary have two grown children.

| | Once bookless, UNO grad now sits on library board
At age 23, Buey Ray Tut has become the newest member of the
Omaha Public Library Board — just 13 years after he and his famiy fled a war-tor Sudan, where they lived in a mud house with no running water or electricity. Now Tut, who once owned no books of his own, serves on government board overseeing 12 public libraries with a million books. | | Halloran receives third Tony Award
UNO graduate Pat Halloran on June 13 received the third Tony Award of his career, winning for his production of "MEMPHIS," a musical loosely based on the life story of radio disc jockey Dewey Phillips, who challenged racial barriers by introducing black music to white radio during the 1950s. | | Miller making most of time with Jaguars Former UNO standout quarterback Zac Miller is making his mark with the Jacksonville Jaguars, impressing the coaching staff at his new position — tight end. Former Mav Les Sigman won the heavyweight championship at the U.S. World Team Trials June 10-12 in Council Bluffs.
