Negil McPherson, Jr. has been elected to serve as the 100th chair of the UNO Alumni Association Board of Directors, effective July 1. A proud UNO alumnus with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, McPherson brings over 22 years of experience in human resources, leadership, and organizational development. He most recently served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Green Plains Inc. and previously held a long-standing leadership role at HDR. McPherson has served on the Alumni Association Board since 2019 and will lead as chair through June 30, 2027.
The UNO Alumni Association also extends its heartfelt thanks to Dr. Viv Ewing for her outstanding service as Board Chair. Her leadership and dedication have left a lasting impact on the UNO alumni community. Dr. Ewing will continue to serve in a vital role as Past Chair of the Board through June 30, 2026.
In addition, the Board welcomes two new members beginning their terms on July 1:
- Dave Bartholet, owner of DiBar Properties and a UNO graduate with a degree in Criminal Justice.
- Jordan Koch Burns, a middle school teacher with Elkhorn Public Schools and a two-time UNO graduate with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Elementary Education.
Both new members will serve through June 30, 2028.
The UNO Alumni Association is deeply grateful for the leadership, service and expertise of all its Board members as they continue to strengthen the Maverick alumni network and support the university’s mission.
