On Saturday, April 5, 60 alumni and friends gathered on campus to volunteer their time and share their passion for the University of Nebraska at Omaha at Serve UNO Day.
Volunteers helped stock shelves at the Maverick Food Pantry; organized historical photographs for the UNO Criss Library Archives and Special Collections; landscaped and created signs for Durango’s Advancement and Support Hub garden beds; organized storage materials for an Office of Engagement building partner at the Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center; prepped license plate covers and inserts for UNO May 2025 graduate gifts; and sorted and organized clothing for the UNO Alumni Association’s student Career Closet.
Together, UNO alumni and friends contributed 90 hours of service to UNO!
Through these efforts, they contributed to reducing UNO student food insecurity; preserving UNO history; increasing civic engagement; and helped set UNO students up for success through free professional clothing for job interviews and internships.
Throughout April, alumni and friends around the world make pledges to volunteer throughout the month, giving back to their communities for UNO Alumni Month of Service. Join us in reaching our goal of 2,000 volunteer hours in 2025 by pledging to serve in your community!
