JOURNEYS: Fall issue of UNO Magazine published
UNO graduates around the world are being sent the Fall 2016 issue of UNO Magazine, which focuses on "Journeys" as its theme. That includes articles on the journey of invasive species, on sex trafficking and on a professor's regular excursions to the spiritual font that is India. Read it online now
Association celebrates grads at 2016 UNO Alumni Night of Honor
The UNO Alumni Association hosted the third Alumni Night of Honor Thursday, Nov. 3., at the Thompson Alumni Center, issuing Young Alumni awards and inducting three members into the UNO Athletics Hall of Fame. See more.

Best Reception Venue by Best of Omaha
For a third consecutive year, the Thompson Center at UNO has been voted one of the city’s Best Reception Venues in Omaha Magazine’s Best of Omaha 2017 contest. “Thank you to all of our guests who again voted for the Thompson Center as Omaha’s best reception venue,” Director Steven Summers said. “It is a credit to our wonderful staff and fantastic, updated venue that we were recognized for this honor. “We believe even better things are ahead given the the dramatic, modern update we implemented throughout the facility and completed earlier this year." UNO again named a top
university for military friendliness
For the sixth consecutive year, UNO has been named one of the top universities in the country for military-affiliated students by Military Times. On Nov. 1, the military-focused magazine listed UNO as the No. 9 four-year university in the country for 2017. This follows two back-to-back years as the nation’s top university in the same category. UNO has been ranked among the top 10 schools, public and private, among the nation’s four-year universities in six of the last eight years. 2016 Hall of Fame class inducted
UNO Athletics inducted three former athletes into its Hall of Fame Nov. 3 at the UNO Alumni Night of Honor at the Thompson Alumni Center on campus. The event was part of UNO’s Homecoming Weekend. Inducted were multi-sport athlete Fred Abboud, former football player Justin Kammrad and former hockey player Scott Parse. Begun in 1975, the Hall of Fame now includes 113 inductees. Also at Alumni Night of Honor, the 2001 UNO softball team was honored to mark the 15th anniversary of its national championship. See more
