Decor & Design
The Thompson Center goes beyond the ordinary with its classic architecture beginning at its entrance with a columned portico. Inside features include detailed trim work and wainscoating, French doors, lighted wall sconces, a 13-foot vaulted ceiling and more.
Outdoor Cathedral
The Thompson Center is one of Omaha’s premier locations for outdoor weddings, featuring a canopy of majestic trees that form an “Outdoor Cathedral” unique in area and ideal for wedding ceremonies. Hundreds of happy couples have been married on our beautifully landscaped grounds, which includes smaller ornamentals, wooden benches and a winding, paved walkway. The grounds adjoin our spacious brick patio and can accommodate up to 300 guests in theater-style seating. The Thompson center provides classic white wedding chairs, an 8-foot white arbor and an outdoor sound system to make your planning process simple and your wedding absolutely elegant.
Special Spaces
At the heart of the Thompson Center are two ballrooms — Bootstrapper and Centennial Halls. Multiple other spaces are used throughout weddings and receptions.
Bootstrapper Hall and Centennial Hall both feature polished oak dance floors, lighted wall sconces, polished brass chandeliers, ceiling-mounted LCD projectors and an electronically controlled projection screen on which many couples show their life retrospectives. The system accommodates DVD, VHS or computer-generated slide shows and includes an accompanying sound system. Bootstrapper and Centennial Hall can each accommodate up to 210 guests seated at round tables. Overall wedding reception capacity is 350 guests.
Sokol Concourse runs between the two ballrooms and is a beautiful pre-function space that guests utilize throughout the evening. Features include comfortable furniture groupings and a built-in marble-topped bar.
Andersen Hospitality Room is where many couples place their buffet line. Opening by partition into Centennial Hall, it also can seat guests during increased attendance.
Severa Parlor features sofas, armchairs and a classic gas fireplace. Some couples host a cocktail reception in the Parlor prior to the main event. The room also can be used for additional dinner seating, accommodating up to 48 guests at round tables.
