UNO Young Alumni Academy

Fifth academy class under formation

Applications no longer are being acccepted for the fifth class of the UNO Young Alumni Academy. Applications are being reviewed and accepted members will be notified later in August.

More than 130 young alumni have taken part in the eight-month leadership development program, specifically designed for alumni 35 and younger. Sessions are held at unique locations on and off campus, including a behind-the-scenes tour of the CenturyLink Center and time flying in the cockpit of UNO’s Flight Simulator! UNO leaders also address members on topics such such as athletics management, student focus and community engagement. Social activities begin each session, and the program concludes with a “graduation” ceremony and reception at the Thompson Center.

The entire program is free to Academy participants. Academy graduates remain connected to the program via various activities and networking.

2014-15 Sessions
The Academy typically meets Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. once per month through April. Meetings are held at unique locations throughout campus. Each session begins with time for networking.

Fourth class completes Academy year

April 10 was graduation day for 2013-14 members of the UNO Young Alumni Academy. The academy is a leadership development program specifically designed for alumni 35 and younger and facilitating networking and professional growth. The group attended eight sessions held at unique locations on and off campus, including a behind-the-scenes tour of the CenturyLink Center and time flying in the cockpit of UNO’s Flight Simulator. UNO leaders also addressed members on topics such as athletics management, student focus and community engagement.

The capstone session included a tour of UNO’s 168-foot-tall Henningson Memorial Campanile followed by a "commencement" ceremony at the Thompson Center. More than 130 young alumni have taken part in the program, which enters its fifth year in September 2014.

 

2013-14 Young Alumni Academy

welcomes 44 members

The UNO Alumni Association has selected 44 alumni for participation in its fourth class of the UNO Young Alumni Academy.
