"We attended the first year, 25 years ago," Judy says. "We have attended every year [since], except I missed one year and Ed missed two years."

Favorite memory:
"Perhaps the best memories are simply being able to sit out in the park during summer evenings and watch all of the great performances over the years. It was fun to bring a picnic and enjoy the ambience! Now it is much easier for us to enjoy the indoor picnic, listen to a synopsis of the play and meet new faces and share old memories."

Join us July 6 for the 2012 Shakespeare on the Green Picnic & Play Join fellow alumni July 6 for the 27th annual Shakespeare on the Green. The annual event features dinner at the Thompson Center followed by a performance of “Julius Caesar.” The picnic begins at 6 p.m. and the performance at 8 p.m. Cost to attend is $15 per adult and $10 per child. That includes a picnic buffet, reserved spot “down front” at the play, reserved parking near the Green and a performance preview from a Nebraska Shakespeare Festival insider. Dinner features chicken, BBQ pork, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, cookie and beverages.
